Kevin Richardson left the Backstreet boys!!!

See, this is what it takes to get me to update my Xanga.  I haven't reverted back to my boy band obsession days though...my brother actually told me about it.  Even though Kevin wasn't one of my favorites, it's still kinda sad to hear.  But the good news is that the rest of the group is staying together and they're starting to work on their next album.

I just turned down UCSD's offer of admission to their TEP graduate program.  I feel really bad about that and I'm wondering if I made the right decision in choosing UCLA.  For undergrad, I knew exactly where I was gonna go as soon as I got the acceptance letter from UCSD.  This time I'm not so sure.

I'm used to UCSD...the campus, the classes, the people...and maybe that's what's making this decision so hard.  I know that I would like being there for another two years.  I'm comfortable with UCSD and I think in a way I still don't want to let go.  After I graduated, there was still the chance that I might go back for grad school.  Now I declined their offer and clicking on that "confirm" button thing was like the last official UCSD thing I'll ever do.  It made me really sad.

But I think in terms of where I could become a better teacher, that would be UCLA.  They actually have a whole separate school for education and a special center that sends grad students to LAUSD schools to teach.  UCLA's program has a lot more actual classroom experience rather than lectures, and the second year I read that they put grad students in a paid teaching position at a partner school.

I don't really know what to think right now, so I'm just gonna end this update.  I get to forget about it all for a couple of days anyway....I'm leaving to Vegas tomorrow!  I'm very excited about that!

So after that last update I was supposed to write again "soon."  Based on how often I've been updating, 2 weeks is soon.  Kind of.  It's a school night again though so I have no time to write about my week 2 weeks ago like I wanted to.  So in a very condensed version:

  • My cousin had her baby, a girl named Mia.  (on the exact day she was due)
  • UCLA called and told my mom that I was accepted.  (Isn't that kinda private information?  I don't think I would have wanted to hear it from my mom if I was rejected...)
  • My mom's friend/boyfriend offered to pay for my spring break trip to Vegas.  (2 more weeks!)
  • I went to a Lakers game because my mom got free suite tickets from her work.  And the Lakers won!  I <3 Kobe!!
  • I went to Disneyland with Yonit.  (Yay for the 2fer thing! I get to go to California Adventure soon!)

I think there was something else but I can't remember now.

So I actually came to update because I wanted to say...

HAPPY 21st BIRTHDAY ALICIA!  (It's still your birthday according to my computer...but I think my Xanga goes by eastern time)

and HAPPY BIRTHDAY LAUREN!!!

I'm having a very, very good week!

More to come later, but it's a school night so I have to go to sleep now.

Just a random thought...

I think someone should make a computer where all you can do is type stuff.  That would eliminate a lot of distractions and would therefore reduce the amount of procrastination when someone is trying to write an essay.

Or maybe I should just disconnect the internet.
